Here are the winners and finalists of American Photo Images of the Year 2009. The winning entries of this competition are divided in different categories such as: extreme, photojournalism, personal works, student works, commercial works, portraiture and nature.

Epson has announced a new R-D1xG rangefinder digital camera, which is suceesor R-D1s. Epson R-D1xG has a 6 Megapixel APS-C CCD image sensor, improved EDiART image processor, 2.5-inch LCD display and support for the RAW and JPEG.

Epson R-D1xG is compitable with Leica M and L series lenses. It supports SDHC memory cards to 32GB. This retro-style digital camera will be released April 9.

An upgrade to the Casio Exilim 720 is here, the latest digital camera bearing Japan’s favorite cat packs in 9 Megapixels and 2.6 inch TFT. It packs in a 3X optical zoom lens and can shoot video in MOV format. Other specs include digital image stabilizer, red eye reduction, 41Mb of internal memory and SDHC card slot. The pink chic camera is further sprinkled with pink crystals around the lens area. Available in Japan it sells for 47,250 Yen ($ 525).
